List Scribal Changes by Sura

The List Scribal Changes by Sura report (found from the main menu under ‘Manuscripts’ > ‘Scribal Changes’ > ‘List Scribal Changes by Sura’) shows, for each of the 114 suras of the Qur’an, how many scribal changes each contains and how many words are affected by scribal changes in each case. The report looks like this:

1 Suras to Show. Choose to show all 114 suras, or just suras that are traditionally ascribed to either the Meccan or the Medinan period of the Qur’an’s formation.
2 Sura Name. For convenience, both the Arabic and English names of the suras are listed (along with their number). Click any sura name or number to open it in the verse browser, with any words affected by changes underlined with a dotted line, like so:
3 Number of Scribal Changes. The total number of scribal changes recorded in Qur’an Gateway’s database for this sura. Click the number to browse all the scribal changes in the sura, or click the  icon to see a chart displaying the number of scribal changes per verse in this sura; or just point your mouse at the icon for a few seconds to see a pop-up mini-chart, like this:

4 Words Affected by Scribal Changes. The number of words in this sura affected by one or more scribal changes. Click the number to list every verse in the sura where a scribal change is located, with the affected word(s) underlined in dotted red (see #2 above). You may also click the  icon at the top of this column to see a chart showing the number of words affected by scribal changes in each sura (or just point your mouse at the icon for a few seconds to see a pop-up mini-chart).
